– IRENE SANGEETHA
“We are living in unprecedented times.” In the past couple of years, this statement has filled the news
outlets, social media, sermons, teachings, and many conversations across the globe.
Today in 2023, the Lord has begun to do a New Thing! Can you hear it? Have you perceived it?
Just like Isaiah 43:19 says, “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not
perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” The Lord Himself
has turned up causing Revivals to break out. Hallelujah!
HUNGRY HEARTS BRINGS REVIVAL!
The Word of the Lord says that He is looking for those who will seek to honor Him, and He is
truly equipping, and filling His saints to go out and bring others into His fold. He has not given
this instruction to a select few but has anointed His children to go and preach the good news and
make disciples, just as Prophet Joel had prophesied:
“And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men, and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days…
…. And everyone who calls
on the name of the LORD will be saved…
We are living in a time where information is at our fingertips and yet many do not know who
Jesus really is and what He has done for them. Christianity has become diluted because we have
allowed books and education, creativity, and entertainment to infiltrate our thoughts, desires, time, and money. We have diluted the gospel to material blessings, promotions, and good relationships.
These are great, and these are from God, but there truly is more.
We as women of God, keepers of the peace of our homes, and educators of our children need to
increase the temperature of the Presence of God in Our lives. Let us not become tired of doing
what God has intended for us to do, but let us continue to grow in His power and in His wisdom.
The greatest example we have is the Life of Jesus Christ Himself. As long as He was healing
people and doing miraculous works, people were following Him by the droves, excited and
curious to see this Man of Wonders. ‘Rabbi’, they called Him, because He was a teacher like no
other. No other Rabbi spoke with both authority and compassion the way He did!
It was when He started speaking about who He really was that He began to go through
accusations and rejection. People became skeptical of His message. They started to question His
message which led to criticism and this criticism led to disbelief and then caused them to reject
Him. After that, even the demonstration of powerful miracles made no difference to them.
The Pharisees were worried about the religious claims Christ declared and the Sadducees
worried about its political implications. As a result, they found common ground to conspire
against Him and convinced Pilate to crucify Jesus.
Jesus’ popularity slowly declined as He went from town to town. People could not accept His
claims about being one with the Father. And because they would not accept the authority that He
claimed to possess, they could not accept His message either. He also proclaimed that He would build
the New Kingdom built on the old Law. Due to unbelief, the people could not understand, nor
accept His proposition which was so new to them. As Jesus set before them clear conditions to
be citizens of this new Kingdom, the crowds began to dwindle. This caused Jesus to spend more
time with His disciples in private, teaching, equipping, and encouraging them. He also began to use
more parables to the public, because the attitude of the people had changed, and miracles became
few because of unbelief.
Those that believed in Him became the ones He gave most of His attention to.
Jesus knew His most important purpose was to lay His life down. In laying His life down and
becoming the ultimate sacrifice for sin, redemption and restoration back to the Father would be
available for the whole world!
To accomplish that, He first had to prove that He was the Promised Messiah of Israel and the
Son of God. He also had to prepare His hearers to receive and accept the New Kingdom He was
now establishing which was built on the old Law. His third message which came towards the end was that God would accept Gentiles into His Kingdom.
He was sad and angered that the Jewish people could not be the first partakers and
leaders, as a nation, to bring forth His New Kingdom. He realized that after His death, the Holy
Spirit would empower His followers and being the Church, they would become the instrument
for evangelization.
In Acts 1:8 Jesus said,
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my
witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
This was Jesus’ desire: That all may be included in His Kingdom.
John 3:16, says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
He came so that many would be citizens of His Kingdom.
Jews and Gentiles.
Men and women.
Young and Old.
The message of the Gospel of our dear Savior is yet to be received by many. We as His Church
must continue to actively share His birth, works of miracles, death, resurrection, and His coming
which we look forward to. We also share testimonies of our own transformed lives through
the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let this be a Season of Evangelism Break out!
PRAYER: Lord, fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may understand Your word and boldly speak
Your Word and share the Love You showed on the Cross today.
If you are repentant and want to make Jesus Your Lord, say the following prayer.
Remember that it’s not the words of the prayer that saves you, but your repentant heart
and the faith in saying the prayer to Jesus knowing that you are beginning a new life
from this moment on.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I thank you for your unconditional love for me. I accept that I am a sinner, in
need of a Savior. Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God who died on the Cross for my sins,
that You rose again on the third day, and that You are coming back again. Today, by faith I
choose to follow Your ways and I surrender my past to you. Thank you for taking my place on
the cross so that I do not have to be punished in eternity, and I now have eternal life in You. I
believe Your words of life are true. Come and be my Lord and Shepherd. In Jesus’ Name, I pray.
Amen.
